Will Smith publicly apologizes after his slap: Chris Rock responds… and declares war on him!

Four months ago, the image went around the world and seemed implausible. At the last Oscar ceremony, Will Smith rose from his chair to go on stage and slap Chris Rock in front of the audience and viewers after the latter made a tasteless joke about the actor’s wife. Bad taste joke or not, whoever starred in Men in Black, I am legendor bad boys was criticized by the whole world and boycotted by many organizations since this slippage.

Four months later, the companion of Jade Pinkett wished to speak for publicly apologize in a long video posted on Youtube, but also his Instagram account. “I contacted Chris (Rock) and the message that came back is that he is not ready to talk, and when he is he will contact me”he said in part of his video, adding: “I apologize. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here anytime you want to talk”.

Keep talking…

Will Smith also wanted to apologize to Chris Rock’s mother for his inappropriate gesture. “I want to apologize to Chris’ mum. I didn’t realize, I didn’t think about how many people I was going to hurt in that moment. […] I want to apologize to Chris’ family, especially Tony Rock. We had a great relationship”, he regretted in particular before acknowledging that he had committed the irreparable. The companion of Jada Pinkett also let it be known that he had sought, in recent months, to understand his gesture but that he had not succeeded.

But, despite the apology video of his “attacker”, it seems that Chris Rock is very resentful. During his last show, he evoked the video of Will Smith and seemed… almost to want to do battle with him. If everyone claims to be a victim, then no one is going to hear from the real victims. Meaning me when I’m slapped by Suge Smith”he dropped in reference to Suge Knight, allegedly responsible for the death of Tupac, before concluding: “I went to work the next day. I have children […] People who say words can hurt have clearly never been punched in the face.”. Not sure that this intervention will calm the situation between the two…
