Game news The Elder Scrolls 6: the “grandmother of Skyrim” wants to play it “before she dies” and asks Bethesda to hurry
Unveiled at E3 2018 with a little teaser, The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t be released for a while. A delay that annoys Shiley Curry, the most famous octogenarian Skyrim youtuber on the web.
- The Elder Scrolls VI: when is it?
- “I want to play it before I die!”
Already a week ago, Bethesda revealed fifteen minutes of gameplay for Starfield. It’s the studio’s next big game, considered “skyrim from space” by its producer himself. The title should see the light of day next year on PC and Xbox and once the game is deployed, Bethesda’s agenda is far from displaying a blank page. In addition to projects that he “looks from time to time”, the studio will devote its time to The Elder Scrolls VI and to Fallout 5. For the latter, we will have to be patient since it will be released after TES 6, which is barely in pre-production. Even though this sixth numbered installment in the saga is the next installment on the list, it shouldn’t be released for some time.
“I want to play it before I die!”
A time that is precious for Shiley Curry, a well-known octogenarian in the Elder Scrolls community. She’s a million-subscribed Youtuber who regularly posts gameplay sessions from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on his channel. She also performed at PAX East at the end of April. She had a booth there in which she held a Q&A session, at which the media Rock, Paper Shotgun attended. During this session, she was asked what she would say to Todd Howard (executive producer at Bethesda) if he was in this room. Here is his response:
Why not hello? (…) No, I will ask him to give me a good game and ask him to hurry up and finish Skyrim 6. I want to play it before I die!
But the funny thing is that she had already met him in 2019 after the announcement of his presence as a non-playable character in TES 6:
Well, since they made the announcement today about me, as a character in the next TES game…I can show my favorite thing I brought away with me!!! 🥰 pic.twitter.com/lIoEJ3tz83

Since they said I was going to be in the next Elder Scroll game… I can show off my favorite thing I took with me!
If it looks like she doesn’t want to play Starfield when it comes out, playing it is probably one of the best ways to wait for The Elder Scrolls 6. Its date hasn’t been announced yet, but we do know that it will be available on PC, Xbox Series and in the Game Pass when it is released.
