Disney releases the big game for the trailer for “Andor”, the new Star Wars series

TV SERIES – Familiar faces, action and the promise of a great show. This Monday, August 1, as you can see at the top of the articleDisney has uploaded a first trailer for “ Andor », his new series based in the universe « Star Wars which will return to the origins of the Resistance.

Incidentally, Disney is also postponing the start of the broadcast on the Disney + platform by a few days, now scheduled for September 21. A way no doubt to avoid traffic jams at the end of summer when ” Game of Thrones – House of the Dragon is expected on August 21 and that “ power rings “, series derived from the “Lord of the Rings” will begin on September 2.

In the trailer for “Andor” revealed on Monday, we find characters discovered in “Rogue One”, the film released in 2016. In this feature filmwe followed a band of rebels who led a commando mission to steal the plans of the famous Death Star, thus returning to the origins of the saga and the starting point of the trilogy of the 1970s.

More spectacular than “Obi-Wan Kenobi”?

The series will go even further since it focuses on the journeys of several of the protagonists of “Rogue One” and the way in which they had the idea of organizing themselves in resistance against the Galactic Empire. . And this by following in particular the spy Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna), but also the rebel leader Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) or the guerrilla Saw Guerrera (Forest Whitaker). A remarkable cast to which Stellan Skarsgård, Fiona Shaw or Adria Arjona also contribute.

From the first images, it seems that the action is at the rendezvous of this new soap opera based in the world created by George Lucas, where we are promised in particular clashes between spaceships, infiltration missions and street fights between rebels and soldiers of the Empire.

But the creators promise nonetheless: “Andor” will not be an accumulation of special effects and digital overlays, ensuring that many visual effects have been achieved through filming tricks, the creation of props and the impressive scenery design. Surely a way to respond to the criticisms that marred the release of the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” serieswhose relative ambition has left many “Star Wars” fans unsatisfied.
