In Pam & Tommy, the scene where Tommy Lee (Sebastian Stan) addresses his penis marked the public. It could have had a completely different flavor since a former Marvel colleague was considered to give voice to the penis of the Mötley Crüe drummer.
Available on Disney+, Pam & Tommy looks back at the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sextape scandal in the 1990s. The series has caused a lot of talk, especially for the impressive transformations of Lily James and Sebastian Stan – known as Bucky Barnes, aka Winter Soldier, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – but also for an amazing sequence in the second episode “I love you, Tommy”.
Before deciding to marry the Baywatch star, the Mötley Crüe drummer converses under ecstasy with his penis to find out if Pamela Anderson is the right one and if he’s in love with her. And the sequence shows the rock star in full discussion with a moving and talking machine.
No, you’re not dreaming. And this scene does not come out of nowhere since it appears black on white in a passage from the autobiographical book tommyland by Tommy Lee published in 2005, as recalled variety.
An Avenger could have doubled Tommy Lee’s penis!
To give voice to Tommy Lee’s penis, it’s the dubbing actor Jason Mantzoukasknown for his voice acting in Big Mouth on Netflix and in Invincible on Amazon Prime Video and his roles in The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine Ninewhich was chosen.
The French version was entrusted to the dubbing actor Christopher Lemoine (Cartman’s voice from South Park or that of Samsagace in The Lord of the Rings).
But Tommy Lee’s penis could have had a totally different voice. Because the creator of the series, Robert Seigel, had a very particular name in mind and well known to Sebastian Stan. Indeed, the interpreter of Captain America, alias “the buttocks of America”, Chris Evans, was considered to double the machine of the musician in this sequence.
But Sebastian Stan could not bring himself to ask his friend and colleague from the MCU if he was up for it. This is what he confided to Awards Daily :
“We didn’t know who we were going to have at that point. The guys called me up and said, ‘What do you think? Do you think Chris Evans would do this with you?’ I was like, ‘I’m not calling him, okay? I can’t ask him to do this.'”
The interpreter of Tommy Lee did not say more about the case and did not reveal if the teams of the series Pam & Tommy had contacted Chris Evans all the same. But Sebastian Stan missed a meeting with his sidekick from the Marvel universe.
For his part, Chris Evans is showing the action film The Gray Man on Netflix, for which he found the Russo brothers, to whom we owe two Captain America films and two Avengers films.
